Product review
This product is a professional-grade cotton piping welt cord produced by a United States manufacturer. It is finished to be extra-smooth and intended to deliver a higher-quality result than many imported fillers.
The cord is supplied neatly wound on an easy-to-handle cardboard tube so it dispenses smoothly and lays flat during shipping. The spool format makes feeding the cord into seams and channels simpler than loose or bagged alternatives.
Designed for use as piping in pillows, cushions, apparel welt, and other soft-trim applications. When the cord is enclosed in fabric it is washable and suitable for regular sewing and home laundering.
Construction details: 100% cotton filler grown domestically, surrounded by a polyester braid for stability and sewing performance. Size: 4/32" (1/8") — Size 00. Length: 10 yards per spool. Made in the USA.
Pros
- Extra-smooth finish for clean piping
- Made in USA with domestic cotton filler
- Convenient cardboard spool for easy dispensing
Cons
- Not intended to be used exposed without fabric
- Unsuitable as mask or garment ties
- Wrap can look thinner where tightly wound
VerdictA reliable, American-made 1/8-inch piping cord that performs well for sewn welt and decorative trim. It arrives neatly wound on a cardboard tube for straightforward dispensing, feels smooth under fabric, and stands up to machine sewing when encased. Not suitable for use uncovered or as standalone ties, but otherwise an economical and well-made option for home sewers and upholstery work.

Solid value, does the job for my project
Performs well for what I needed. It includes a small metal tip that makes feeding the cord through narrow channels easier. I did notice the wrap looks slightly thinner where it was tightly wound on the spool, but that hasn't affected its use for piping.

Enough piping to reupholster chairs
Reupholstered six Louis-style chairs using double piping on seats and oval backs. One roll covered the whole job with some leftover. Wrapping the fabric over the cord was straightforward and the results look great.

Finally found 1/8in cord nearby
I've hunted for 1/8-inch filler for years to make my own garment piping and had almost given up. Buying pre-made was costly and color choices limited, so discovering a nearby domestic source is a huge relief. Now I can wrap the cord in any fabric I want, support local manufacturing, and avoid overseas shipping. For those leaving negative feedback — this item is intended to be enclosed in fabric, not used alone; improper use is the user's mistake, not a product flaw.

Not suitable for mask ties
I bought it hoping to use it as ties for face masks, but it didn't perform well for that purpose. It should work fine when wrapped and used as piping. I've set it aside for future upholstery use.
