Product review
Integrated LED Weld Light: The hood includes a USB-powered LED lamp that mounts to the top of the shell and offers two brightness settings. The lamp ships separately in the package and is intended to be attached by the user to illuminate work in low-light situations.
Fast Auto-Darkening Optics: The lens assembly uses four arc sensors and switches from clear to dark in about 1/25000 of a second. Shade and sensitivity are adjustable to suit STICK, MIG, TIG welding as well as grinding and cutting. Dark state options cover the ranges 4, 5–8 and 9–13.
Extra-Large Viewing Area: The cartridge provides a large 3.94" x 3.66" visible window with 1/1/1/1 optical clarity and enhanced true-color technology to reduce tinting and improve contrast while you work.
Power and Runtime: Two small solar panels on the front and a CR2450 lithium cell in the rear supply power. The electronics are designed for extended operation with a minimum working current specification of ≥5 amps to prolong runtime.
Comfort and Build: The shell is molded from flexible polypropylene for reduced weight (about 1 lb) and impact resistance. The headgear is ergonomically contoured with multiple adjustment points and breathable padding to improve fit and comfort during long welds.
Eye Protection: A multi-mode 12-in-1 filter delivers automatic DIN 16 ultraviolet and infrared protection in the dark state to shield eyes from harmful radiation and adapt to different welding environments.
Pros
- Large true-color 3.94" x 3.66" viewing area
- Quick auto-darkening with four arc sensors
- Lightweight shell and padded adjustable headgear
Cons
- Top LED light ships uninstalled and can be loosely attached
- Shell feels thin compared with heavier hoods
- Battery access/design may frustrate some users
VerdictThis helmet delivers a roomy, true-color viewing area and rapid auto-darkening suitable for stick, MIG and TIG work. Comfort features and a detachable USB LED are welcome, while the thin shell and fiddly light attachment may disappoint heavier users. Good overall for hobbyists and many pros who want a feature-rich, lightweight hood.

Clear view while welding
I appreciate the true-color optics and full adjustment range. Far superior to the old green-tinted shields I used before — you notice details you couldn’t see before.

No noticeable light delay
Pleasantly surprised — the auto-darkening showed no lag.

Comfortable but light attachment is weak
Fits well and is comfortable to wear. The LED lamp doesn't stay fastened tightly, so keep that in mind—still a sensible buy for an economical helmet.

Mixed experience — durability concerns
It worked fine at first, but battery endurance dropped quickly. After a few months of hobby use the low-battery warning came on even though actual use was limited. Replacing the cell seemed logical but accessing the battery proved difficult. Support responses were unhelpful and I couldn’t find clear instructions. While optics and fit are good initially, reliability and serviceability are questionable over time.

Solid unit, impressive view
Performs well for everyday welding. The viewing window is expansive and the top light illuminates the area nicely. Side-mounted controls are much easier to use than interior dials I had before. The shell feels a bit lightweight, but it functions fine for general use.

Excellent for beginners and intermediates
The headgear has multiple adjustments and a pivoting rear cradle that hugs the back of the skull, so fit is very secure. Three adjustment points let it fit a wide range of head shapes. Compared with similar low-cost models I've tried, this one offers a larger viewing area, side controls that are glove-friendly, and sturdier plastic. It also arrived with spare protective lenses, which is a handy touch. If you need a roomy view and straightforward controls, this helmet is a strong candidate.
