Product review
What’s included: a single palm-sized konjac sponge with a hanging cord, packaged in a recyclable box.
Materials: made from 100% konjac root and infused with activated charcoal for added cleansing support. The sponge is entirely plant-based and fully compostable at the end of its use.
How it’s used: soak the dry sponge in warm water until it softens, add a small amount of body cleanser, then massage the skin in gentle circular motions. Rinse the sponge thoroughly after each use and hang it to dry by the attached string.
Performance notes: designed to replace synthetic loofahs and plastic sponges, it yields a soft, creamy lather with concentrated washes and gives light, non-abrasive exfoliation suitable for daily use or delicate areas.
Care and disposal: allow to air-dry between uses; when it begins to break down, it can be added to home compost. Because it’s biodegradable and plastic-free, it avoids the waste of conventional bath accessories.
Size and feel: compact and travel-friendly, it swells to a soft, silky texture when hydrated. The initial dry texture is firm; once soaked it becomes pliable and gentle on the skin.
Pros
- 100% plant-based and compostable
- Creates a gentle lather and light exfoliation
- Compact, easy to hang and travel with
Cons
- Fragile — can break down quickly with heavy use
- Dries slowly even when hung up
- May be too soft for tougher cleaning needs
VerdictA thoughtfully made, plant-based body sponge that offers mild exfoliation and a silky feel when wet. It’s compostable and works well with a concentrated liquid wash to produce a gentle foam, but it’s delicate — expect a limited lifespan if used aggressively. Great for sensitive skin and sustainable bathroom routines, though drying time and durability may frustrate heavier users.

Too delicate for regular use
I didn’t have a good experience — it started tearing by my second use. It’s very delicate and I expected it to be more durable. Not ideal if you want something long-lasting.

Nice idea, sponge feels too fragile
I loved that this is made from pure konjac and is biodegradable — that was the main draw. It arrived nicely packaged but felt brittle at first. Once wet it softens quickly, yet it becomes so limp that it doesn’t hold soap or build a strong lather for thorough washing. It seems prone to wear and I worry about how long it will last; I’d expect more than a couple of weeks.

Gentle, intentional cleanser
After a week of use it’s earned a spot in my routine. Soft when wet, mild exfoliation, and nicely packaged — makes daily washing feel more considered.

Silky with the body wash
Works nicely with the AKT wash and leaves skin feeling soft. Can’t really photograph shower use, but I enjoy it.

Eco-friendly and pleasant, with minor faults
After a week it’s become a pleasant part of my routine. The cardboard packaging feels premium and the instructions add a little ceremony to washing. When hydrated the sponge is very gentle and creates light lather with a small amount of body wash, leaving skin smooth without irritation. It’s great that it’s fully compostable. Minor issues: it stays damp for a long time even when hung, and to me it’s a touch too silky for deep scrubbing.
