Product review
What you get: a combination kit including a digital temperature controller and a 6" x 8" under-tank heat mat rated at 8 watts.
Electrical and thermal details: the mat runs on 120 volts and is designed to produce steady surface warmth in the approximate range of 104°F to 122°F. The controller shows temperatures across a wide span (display range 32°F–140°F), and offers readings in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.
Adhesive and materials: the pad uses an improved bonding layer intended to be more robust than earlier versions, reducing the chance of melting or separation at the attachment points. Still, some users report variation in adhesive longevity, so inspect the bond periodically.
Mounting and ventilation: installation can be on the bottom or mounted to the side of a glass terrarium. Rubber feet are supplied for bottom placement to lift the enclosure slightly and permit excess heat to dissipate. Important: do not place the mat on plastic, acrylic, or directly onto tanks intended to hold water.
Control and setup: position the temperature probe where you want to monitor surface heat, plug in the controller, then use the three-button interface to select your target temperature. The display is large and toggles between °F and °C. The combo is meant to supply gentle, continuous warmth while allowing the thermostat to monitor and regulate temperatures around the clock.
Pros
- Accurate, easy-to-use digital thermostat
- Compact kit: controller plus 6×8″ heat mat included
- Flexible mounting with rubber feet for ventilation
Cons
- Mat can be too small for larger enclosures
- Adhesive has been reported to peel in some cases
- Heat output can be uneven across the pad
VerdictA straightforward heating pad plus digital controller intended for small enclosures and seedling use. The thermostat is generally precise and easy to operate, with a 3-button interface and F/C display. The 6×8-inch 8W mat will warm surfaces to the mid-100s F but may be undersized for larger setups; adhesion quality has been reliable for many users but has failed for some. Good for single hides, sm

Size too small for my hermits
The thermostat matched other thermometers and a laser gun. The pad stuck well and produced warmth, but the suggested size was insufficient to reach desired temps for my hermit crabs. The controller and probe are solid; pick a larger mat if you need higher surface temps.

Failed to heat my small tank
Placed the pad on the back of an 8×10-inch aquarium and set 90°F while the room was 68°F. After overnight it never climbed past roughly 70°F.

Controller won't change temp
I followed the instructions but couldn't change the setpoint—it's stuck at 70°F and has slowly dropped to about 68°F.

Bought another — still performing
I tried other options but returned to this unit and bought a second for my two leopard geckos. Probe readings stay accurate when placed on the tank bottom, controls are easy, and the first unit’s adhesive lasted about 18 months.

Accurate controller, undersized pad
The thermostat is excellent—very precise and dependable—but the included mat couldn't reach the temperatures I needed. I replaced it with a larger pad; the controller has been flawless, so the original mat was likely just too small.

Exactly as expected
Worked exactly as described.

Performs well but adhesion uneven
Heated the tank floor properly and was simple to install. The heater unit itself had no faults, but the adhesive lifted on one edge after proper surface prep, leaving a cooler patch. Adhesive quality felt only fair.

Works well overall
All components are functioning fine so far. I set 80°F but a laser gun shows spots between 84–90°F, so the surface heat is uneven. It's in a 20L for a grey-banded king; he seems comfortable, so I am too.

Also useful for seedlings
Needed a compact pad for seed trays and this worked great. After setup I verified temps with another sensor and they matched. The controller is intuitive and toggles easily between °C and °F.

Good quality; tricky setup
I took off one star because programming the thermostat took some fiddling—I managed it but can't recreate the steps. Build quality feels solid and the mat performs; I just wished I had chosen a larger size.

Keeps hatchling warm
A few months in and it’s been reliable for my corn snake hatchling—maintains the hot-side hide temperatures nicely.
