Product review
Specification and content: This product is offered as a standard roll of lead tape in 1/2" (0.5 inch) width. Length choices include 60 inches, 100 inches or 150 inches per roll. The material provides a mass of approximately 2 grams per linear inch and the strip measures roughly 0.024 inches in thickness.
Material and construction: The tape is pure lead foil with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing and a peel-off liner. The backing is engineered to grip smooth and contoured clubheads, paddle faces and racket frames. It cuts cleanly with scissors or a utility blade and can be layered when larger changes in mass are required.
Primary uses: Designed to alter swing weight and the moment of inertia (MOI), this tape is suitable for golf club heads (drivers, fairway woods, irons, wedges, putters), as well as pickleball paddles and tennis rackets. Adding strips can increase perceived head weight, change launch characteristics, and modify feel through the swing.
Application guidance: Clean and dry the surface before applying, measure and mark placement, then press the tape firmly and trim excess. It adheres smoothly to curved surfaces and stays secure during normal use. To remove, peel slowly and use adhesive solvent if residue remains.
Where to place it: Common placement zones include the center of the head to raise swing weight without changing face behavior, the toe to boost MOI and resist twisting, the heel to encourage a more inward path, the sole to raise launch and swing weight, and the topline to increase perceived weight high in the swing arc. Each location produces different effects on ball flight and feel.
Pros
- Precise 2 g/inch weight for controlled adjustments
- Available in multiple lengths and easy to cut
- Strong adhesive that conforms to curves
Cons
- Lead requires careful handling
- Thickness may be noticeable on ground-contacting clubs
- Some users prefer tungsten for denser weight in small areas
VerdictA practical way to tweak club balance and feel: the 2 g/inch density and 1/2" width let you add noticeable weight without many layers. The adhesive backing conforms to contours and holds well, making it suitable for drivers, putters and rackets. Ideal for players who want incremental swing-weight changes or to alter launch and forgiveness.

Sticks and stays
Does what it’s supposed to — bonds well and holds.
-
Chris 5/5
Fine-tunes club balance
Sticks well and the 2 g/inch specification makes it easy to tune swing weight. It lays flat and doesn’t lift, though cutting tiny pieces can be fiddly.
-
Jerrod 4/5
Works well, with a caveat
Adheres firmly and holds through swings. For fairway woods the thickness can catch grass; ideal for backs or non-ground-contact areas like drivers.
