Product review
Includes: One TMO-313C MoCA 2.5 Ethernet over Coax adapter.
Interfaces: The unit provides a single F-type female coax input for connection to your RG6/RG59 in-home coax network and one 2.5Gbps RJ45 LAN port for wired Ethernet devices. Power is supplied via the included DC adapter. The compact housing is designed to sit next to set-top boxes, routers or gaming consoles and connects in-line with existing coax runs.
Compliance and deployment: This model is NDAA and TAA compliant for U.S. and Canadian government deployments, enabling installations that require those certifications. It's intended to extend a wired Triple Play network—digital TV, internet and VoIP—throughout a building without running new Ethernet cable.
MoCA 2.5 features: The adapter supports Multimedia over Coax Alliance 2.5 standards, offering higher bandwidth and reduced packet error rates compared with earlier MoCA versions. That translates to improved support for 4K video, low-latency online gaming and more consistent voice and video streams over coaxial infrastructure.
Usage: Installation is straightforward — connect the coax feed to the adapter, attach an Ethernet cable from the adapter to your device (router, console, TV box, etc.), and power the unit. No advanced configuration is required for basic operation. The adapter is backward compatible with MoCA 2.0/1.1/1.0 networks, but it will not interoperate with non-MoCA subscription services such as Directv, Dish Network, AT&T U-verse, or other proprietary coax systems.
Pros
- Leverages existing coax for wired 2.5Gbps-class links
- MoCA 2.5 reduces latency and improves multimedia reliability
- Simple plug-and-play setup with a compact footprint
Cons
- Not compatible with some satellite/ISP coax services
- Throughput may be inconsistent with certain ONT or network setups
- Unit is sold individually; pairs may be required for full deployment
VerdictThe TMO-313C is an easy plug-and-play way to turn in-home coax into a high-speed wired connection, improving streaming and gaming in many setups. It supports MoCA 2.5 for lower latency and higher throughput and ships as a single adapter with the required coax and Ethernet interfaces. In real-world use it often delivers strong, reliable links, but throughput can vary depending on ISP ONT and existi

Solved PS5 connection problems
I confirmed my Comcast gateway supported MoCA, then used this adapter to bring wired Ethernet to a downstairs PS5 Pro. Installation was just moving the coax to the adapter, reconnecting the set-top, plugging LAN to the console and powering up. LEDs came on quickly, the PS5 immediately saw the network, TV functions stayed the same, and game connectivity stabilized.

Unbalanced download/upload speeds
On RG6 to a Telus NH20A fiber ONT (gigabit service) I measured ~850–900 Mbps upload but only ~250–300 Mbps download through this unit. Direct Ethernet to the ONT gave ~900 Mbps both ways. Swapping in a ScreenBeam ECB7250 returned symmetric speeds similar to Ethernet, so in my setup the Trendnet produced much lower downstream throughput.
