Product review
High-output starting performance: The GB250 delivers a peak of 5,250 amps of lithium-based starting power, intended to reliably crank gasoline and diesel engines up to 16 liters. It is engineered for commercial and industrial applications — Class 8 trucks, buses, motorhomes, agricultural and construction machines, mining equipment, and vocational fleets — and supports 6, 8, 12, and 16-cylinder engines.
Safety and electronics: The unit incorporates patented UltraSafe circuitry that prevents sparks and guards against reverse polarity for safe, mistake-resistant hookups to any 12V battery. The internal lithium battery chemistry and professional-grade electronics are optimized for repeat, heavy-duty starts while minimizing risk to the operator and vehicle electrical systems.
Portable power and lighting: Beyond jump-starting, the GB250 functions as a power bank with integrated USB outputs for charging phones, tablets, and other devices. A supplied 56W XGC power adapter will fully recharge the jump starter in about four hours. For low-light work it includes a precision 600-lumen LED lamp with seven selectable modes, including SOS and strobe, to aid roadside repairs and emergency situations.
Form factor and construction: Despite its extreme output, the unit weighs approximately 15 pounds and is housed with rugged connectors and metal-clad clamps. The compact footprint replaces much larger legacy boxes and is supplied with a custom EVA protective case for transport and storage.
Included accessories and warranty: The package contains the GB250 12V UltraSafe lithium jump starter, a 56W XGC power adapter, interchangeable AC power cords for Australia, Europe, North America, and the United Kingdom, XGC extension cables/adapters, and a Max Protection EVA carry case. The product comes with a one-year limited warranty and is engineered in the USA.
Pros
- Massive peak current for very large engines
- Integrated power bank and bright multi-mode LED
- Compact and transportable for professional use
Cons
- Case hardware (zippers/buckles) can be weak
- Premium price tier
- Heavier than consumer-grade boosters
VerdictThe GB250 Boost Max is built to handle the largest on- and off-road engines, offering enormous starting current in a surprisingly portable 15 lb chassis. Its safety systems make it usable by pros and non-pros alike, and the integrated power bank and bright LED add practical utility. Case hardware and accessory durability are the most common drawbacks noted by users.

Five years in heavy rotation and still running
I've had mine for five years and used it hundreds of times. It’s still in service several times a week; only the LED voltage readout stopped working after extensive use. Very reliable overall.

Fast starts, saves time on the roadside
Jumped two trucks at 11.1V and 11.0V — both cranked immediately. Much quicker than waiting for a service. Easy to use and still had about three-quarters charge after two jumps.

Works perfectly on a semi
Started a semi truck with no problems. Simple to use and does what it’s intended to do.

Worthwhile purchase for professional drivers
I've owned my GB250 since Feb 2024 and it's restarted several semis with completely dead batteries. Some buyers complain about case hardware, but for me it has paid for itself—roadside jump calls are costly and this unit works reliably.

Remember the override — then it performs
Make sure to hold the override switch for about five seconds before use. It shipped with European cords for my unit but support was reachable and I jumped a 14L motor with dead batteries without issue.

Solid boosting and good battery life
Functional unit with dependable battery life. Easy to operate and built tough. The carry case is useful for storage when not in use.

Robust build, clamps are stiff to operate
This is a very powerful and solidly constructed booster. It feels premium when unboxed. My only gripe is the clamp resistance — the red and black jaws are hard to open, but otherwise it’s impressive.

Listing was misleading for my use case
The unit I received failed to start a gasoline truck. The photos and claims didn’t match my real-world result; it didn’t perform as advertised for that vehicle.

Excellent performance; case fittings need improvement
I run a diesel shop and use this on pickups, semis, and tractors. It revived several 8–12L semis, sometimes cranking long on half a charge. Great power, but the zipper pulls and plastic buckles failed quickly; I replaced them with sturdier parts.

Underwhelmed — inconsistent results for me
I expected a dependable unit for frequent boosting but experienced long activation delays and weak cranking on a few vehicles. Couldn’t start three cars in a row despite a full charge; I preferred simpler boosters in my workflow.
