Product review
This kit centers on a 2-liter clear conical hatchery made from hard acrylic to allow visual monitoring of the culture. The tapered shape helps keep eggs in motion when aerated, improving hatch rates and concentrating nauplii near the outlet.
The hatchery is supplied with a plastic stopcock mounted at the cone's lower section to drain and harvest nauplii or concentrate rotifers and microalgae. Accessories included in the package are a rigid airline, flexible air hose, splash cap, and a small collection cup to capture harvested organisms.
A four-legged support stand combines acrylic and rigid PVC for stable, elevated positioning of the cone during incubation and harvest. The unit is suitable for use as a dedicated brine shrimp hatcher or as a two-liter culture vessel for rotifers and microalgae. Operation typically involves connecting an air source to the supplied tubing to keep eggs suspended and using the drain valve to collect concentrated hatchlings into the cup.
Pros
- Clear conical acrylic improves suspension and visibility
- Integrated valve allows straightforward harvesting
- Sturdy four-legged stand provides good stability
Cons
- Cone can flex under pressure compared with thicker materials
- Requires an external air pump and flexible tubing to run
- Drain can clog if eggs or debris collect near the outlet
VerdictThis 2-liter conical hatchery is a practical, well-built option for hobbyists and small labs needing a dedicated vessel for brine shrimp, rotifers, or microalgae. The clear acrylic cone helps keep eggs in suspension for reliable hatches, and the integrated stopcock simplifies harvesting. Expect a robust stand and most of the fittings required to get started, though you will still need an air pump

Solid construction
Just received it and was pleasantly surprised by the build. Much more durable than a repurposed bottle, and the drain valve makes harvesting straightforward. Very satisfied.

Prefer to the Ziss unit
I like this hatchery better than the Ziss model I had — cleaner design and easier to work with.

High hatch output
Quality materials and it produces a large number of nauplii reliably.

Comprehensive kit, reliable performance
This was my first hatchery and I kept it after trying others. The cone is thick and easy to clean; the stand is stable and the nozzle angle dispenses nauplii well. It arrives nearly complete — cone with valve, stand, hard airline, eggs and a scoop — though you still need a pump and flexible tubing. It's on the pricier side but feels like a quality setup.

Harvesting issues — eggs stick
I wouldn't buy again. The stand holds up but the cone is a bit flexible. The drain clogs and eggs cling to the top and sides, making harvests tricky.
