Construction and materials: The nesting house is built from natural solid wood, so it carries a faint woody aroma that can help attract birds to settle in. The interior can be lined with feathers, wood shavings, or fine straw to create a soft nesting surface; if using straw, place it beneath the shavings for best support and to help prevent splayed toes in hatchlings.
Interior layout: Inside the box are partitions and shaped areas that reduce egg movement, creating a steadier incubation area and reducing accidental rolling. A small perch sits just under the circular entrance to give birds a spot to pause before entering. The front section is designed to slide or open to provide access for inspection and cleaning.
Protective features: Edges around the entrance are fitted with a metal-framed surround to discourage excessive pecking and extend the unit’s lifespan. The wooden surfaces are left in a natural finish, allowing owners to apply non-toxic paint if they want to customize the appearance.
Assembly and maintenance: The nest box is fastened with bolts, washers, and wing nuts so it can be mounted inside or outside a cage or aviary, depending on your layout. To clean, open the top/front access, remove debris, wipe the interior with a damp cloth, and let it air dry before rehousing birds.
Size and compatibility: External dimensions are approximately 7.8 x 7.8 x 10.2 inches (L x W x H). It is intended for small parrots, parakeets, budgies, lovebirds, finches, canaries and similar species. Verify the measurements against your cage and flock needs to ensure adequate space for nesting and movement.

Sturdy workmanship, just check fit first
This box arrived more solid than I expected and will suit most medium-sized birds. It can be oversized for small cages, so measure before installing to ensure your flock still has room to move. It’s a bare house — bedding isn’t supplied, so plan to add shavings or straw yourself.

Generous interior but some flimsy parts
The compartment is roomier than photos suggest. Hardware for hanging isn’t provided and there are no climb spools. Some panels, especially the slide-out section, feel a bit thin and the ring around the hole seems more like hard plastic than metal and can be pulled out easily. Decent overall if you inspect it.

My birds accepted it right away
My flock tends to chew nesting boxes but they’ve left this one alone; the female goes in and out frequently and seems comfortable with it in place.

Roomy for a family but check fastenings
Size is excellent — plenty of space for parents and multiple chicks. However, some of the small staples holding the front drawer were rough and the front panel detached easily, which led to a dangerous situation for eggs. Inspect and secure all fastenings thoroughly before use.

Would prefer a bit more interior room
I like the design, but I wish the inside was slightly larger—there isn’t a lot of space to move. Hoping my pair will still take to it for nesting.
