Over the weekend I had the joy of watching my daughter be baptized. After such a meaningful moment, we celebrated with family and friends.
I chose a purple and silver theme for the reception. Below is a look at the dessert and snack table I prepared, along with notes about the decorations and table settings.
One of my favorite parts of entertaining is coordinating the food to match the event colors. I’ll share recipes later, but here’s a breakdown of what was on the table.
Dessert/Snack Table:
First, a Swiss Cake Roll filled with a mixture of cream cheese, powdered sugar, and Cool Whip—simple, creamy, and beautiful.

Spritz cookies decorated with edible disco dust and violet Wilton icing for a sparkling touch.

Classic sugar cookies iced with an almond-flavored decorator frosting, colored violet to fit the palette.

Rice Krispie bars dipped in chocolate and served on sticks—because everything is better on a stick.

For a sweet-and-salty balance: cinnamon sugar glazed nuts and chocolate-covered pretzels.

I also served cake batter popcorn for a fun, colorful snack option.

The centerpiece was a batch of cupcakes with buttercream frosting and handmade chocolate cross toppers. I planned purple velvet cupcakes but made boxed strawberry cupcakes at my daughter’s request—after all, it was her day.

Decorations:
For a focal plaque I used a paper plate from the party supplies, printed a baptism verse, mounted it on purple card stock, and glued it to the plate. It created an inexpensive but meaningful centerpiece.

Fresh flowers added a simple elegance. I repurposed glass bottles—one was a Starbucks Frappuccino bottle—painted them metallic silver, tied on curly ribbon, and used them as vases.

Tables:
Tables were dressed with white tablecloths and purple fabric runners. Multiple small arrangements of purple daisies in silver votives ran down the center for a cohesive look.

Place settings included silver chargers, white plates, and silverware wrapped in purple napkins secured with a custom silver, bejeweled napkin ring.

It was a beautiful day spent with friends and family celebrating this important milestone in our daughter’s life.
