This post brings together a clean eating product review, a low-carb giveaway update, and a simple savory recipe that is perfect for anyone who enjoys keto-friendly snacks. The featured recipe is an easy smoked salmon spread made with just a few ingredients. It is rich, creamy, flavorful, and works beautifully as a low-carb “fat bomb” style spread for crisp bread, crackers, or vegetable slices.

UPDATE: The giveaway has ended, and the lucky winner is Denise Leitermann. Congratulations!

A while ago, I was contacted by a Swedish company called KZ Clean Eating. The company offers products designed for clean eating, with a strong focus on low-carb options. Their products are mainly aimed at the US and Canadian markets, which makes sense because the Nordic market is relatively small. Although the LCHF movement is well known in Sweden, other Nordic countries have been slower to embrace low-carb and ketogenic eating.

I was especially interested in trying these products because many ready-made low-carb foods contain artificial ingredients, unnecessary additives, or sweeteners that do not suit everyone. My expectations were cautious, but I was curious to see whether KZ Clean Eating could offer convenient low-carb foods with cleaner ingredients.

After about two weeks, the parcel arrived. I opened it with excitement and immediately noticed the packaging. Everything looked neat, stylish, and carefully designed, which gave the products a high-quality first impression. Below is a photo of the items that came in the box.

The box included several types of crisp bread and crackers, also known in Swedish as knäckebröd and knäckekex. There were also white chocolate, milk chocolate with salted caramel, two bags of gluten-free low-carb müsli, and Nougatcreme, a chocolate and hazelnut spread similar in idea to Nutella. The selection looked very tempting and offered a nice mix of sweet and savory low-carb snacks.

The packaging was attractive, and the ingredient lists were encouraging. Most of the products used simple, recognizable ingredients. One of the crisp breads contained wheat bran, so I gave that one to my husband because I avoid gluten. The two knäckekex products, however, were gluten-free, which made them suitable for me to try.

I also tested the Nougatcreme on a slice of low-carb bread. The texture was velvety, smooth, and softer than a traditional chocolate-hazelnut spread. The flavor was sweet and chocolatey, with a clear but gentle hazelnut note. If you are familiar with erythritol, the sweetness should be easy to enjoy. The only small downside for me was the use of sunflower oil and rapeseed oil. As an occasional treat, however, the spread is enjoyable. I would rate the Nougatcreme three stars out of five.

Next, I tried the grain-free and gluten-free low-carb müsli. It contains nuts, seeds, erythritol, cinnamon, vanilla powder, and cold-pressed coconut oil. The ingredients are simple and well suited to a low-carb breakfast. The flavor was excellent: lightly sweet, warmly spiced, and not overpowering. For breakfast, that balance is important because overly sweet cereals can feel heavy first thing in the morning. I enjoyed the müsli with unsweetened almond milk, and it quickly became one of my favorites. I would give it five stars.

The box also included two chocolate bars: white chocolate and salted caramel milk chocolate. Both are sweetened with xylitol, making them lower in carbs than regular chocolate and also tooth-friendly. The salted caramel milk chocolate had a lovely contrast of sweet chocolate, crunchy caramel, and a salty finish. It was slightly sweeter than I usually prefer, but that can actually be a benefit because a small piece is satisfying. The combination of flavors and textures worked very well, so I would give it five stars.

The white chocolate was less sweet and tasted wonderfully natural. Even though it was sweetened with xylitol, I did not notice the typical cooling aftertaste that xylitol can sometimes have. The bourbon vanilla added a beautiful, genuine vanilla flavor. This was a fantastic low-carb chocolate option, and I would also give it five stars.

Then it was time to try the two gluten-free knäckekex varieties. The tomato and onion version had a strong toasted flavor and felt a little dry on its own. I think it would work much better with a creamy dip or spread. Eaten plain, I would give it four stars.

The parmesan version was the one I was most excited to open. Its ingredients included water, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, Parmesan cheese, flax seeds, coconut oil, pumpkin seeds, psyllium husk powder, potato fiber, and salt. These are good low-carb ingredients, although flax seeds may not suit everyone. In Nordic low-carb baking, potato fiber is often used in breads and cakes because it adds structure and texture without adding many digestible carbs.

The parmesan knäckekex looked thin and crisp. It held together well but was still easy to break into pieces, which makes it practical for serving with spreads, dips, cheese, or smoked fish.

The flavor was excellent. It was savory, crisp, and satisfying, with a pleasant parmesan taste. This became my favorite product from the box. It is exactly the kind of low-carb cracker that pairs well with rich spreads, and it inspired the smoked salmon spread recipe below. I would give the parmesan knäckekex five stars.

Now for the recipe. This easy keto smoked salmon spread is a perfect match for the parmesan knäckekex, but you can also serve it with any low-carb crisp bread, keto crackers, cucumber slices, celery sticks, or other low-carb vegetables. It is creamy, salty, fresh, and rich enough to serve as an appetizer, snack, or party dip.

In the Nordic countries, salmon is used in many ways: cold-smoked, hot-smoked, baked, grilled, and in soups. For this recipe, cold-smoked salmon gives the best flavor and texture. The preparation could not be easier. Chop the salmon and onion finely, mix everything together, season to taste, and let the spread rest in the refrigerator so the flavors can blend.
