Construction and materials
This drawplate features 52 precisely graduated holes ranging from 0.26 mm up to 4.1 mm. The drawing apertures are formed from tungsten-carbide inserts that have been polished for a bright, smooth finish. The frame and backing use a high-quality steel for strength and long service life.
What’s included
The package contains one wire drawplate, safely packaged to prevent transit damage. The unit is ready to clamp into a vise or holder and use immediately; no additional parts are required for basic wire drawing tasks.
Dimensions and weight
The plate covers a broad size range to accommodate fine to relatively coarse wirework. The whole assembly is lightweight — just over one pound — making it easy to carry between workstations or to classes and craft meetups.
Finish and usability
Each hole has been carefully smoothed so metal passes with minimal friction and leaves a polished surface on the wire. Because of the hardness of the tungsten-carbide inserts, the openings retain their shape and luster through repeated use. The drawplate works with various precious and base metals including gold, silver, copper, platinum, and palladium. For operation, anneal the wire as needed, seat the plate in a vise or clamp, and pull the wire through gradually to reduce diameter to the desired gauge.
Who it’s for
This tool fits beginners experimenting with handmade chains and chain components as well as experienced jewelers needing a portable solution for controlling wire thickness. Its broad hole selection offers flexibility for a variety of jewelry and small metalworking tasks.
Pros
- Wide size range (0.26–4.1 mm across 52 holes)
- Polished tungsten-carbide holes for smooth draws
- Lightweight and easy to transport
Cons
- Protective case may be vulnerable in transit
- Not a powered solution—requires manual pulling
- May need a vise or clamp for stable use
VerdictThis drawplate delivers a wide span of sizes and polished holes that make reducing wire diameter easier and cleaner than many economy alternatives. Lightweight and portable, it suits hobbyists and professional benchworkers who need reliable, repeatable results without heavy equipment.

Polished inserts make a real difference
I compared this to other budget plates and found the mirror-like inserts here produced much smoother silver wire. Other cheap plates left score marks and needed heavy effort to pull; this one required less force and gave a cleaner finish.

High quality, odd branding
Excellent material quality. The brand name is amusing and awkward to pronounce. Took a star off because the plastic case arrived damaged.

Handy for resizing heavy gauge wire
Perfect when you need to reduce thick copper to a finer gauge. Clamp it in a vise, anneal the wire, and pull through. Simple to use with many size options.
