Delicious Sweet Treats to Satisfy Cravings

I’ve been keeping a secret…

It hasn’t been easy to keep it to myself.

This November, Zach and I are expecting a new addition to our family ❤️

I’m 23 weeks pregnant. I’ve wanted to share this for a long time, but anxiety kept me quiet. Even now, at 23 weeks, I’m grateful and excited while still worrying—so please forgive me that it’s taken a while to say anything.

I’ve also been sick. Compared with many morning-sickness stories, I consider myself lucky, but I did have nearly constant nausea from weeks 5–15 and strong food aversions. When your job revolves around food, that’s a challenge—and losing the ability to taste-test cookie dough was rough (thankfully, edible cookie dough helps).

Zach and my mom have been lifesavers with recipe testing and kitchen cleanup while my productivity took a nosedive.

Thankfully, the nausea has mostly faded in the second trimester. Aside from some back pain, things are going well. I do get really hangry, and I’ve had vivid dreams where Zach treats me badly—waking up mad at my actually amazing and very patient husband for something that happened in a dream has been an odd side effect of pregnancy!

Dreams and backaches aside, life feels hectic, chaotic, and a bit stressful, but I am deeply grateful for it all.

With about 17 weeks to go, there’s so much left to do and buy—cribs, tiny clothes, diapers. I’m drowning in reviews and my sister is nudging me to finish my registry. Please leave me recommendations for pregnancy and newborn essentials; any advice is welcome. Do I need a diaper pail? Is there a stroller I’ll actually love?

Curious about boy or girl? We did find out, and I’ll share soon, but for now I’ll keep you guessing…

Thanks for tolerating a non-recipe update. If you want something sweet, I posted a new video today for my Dirty Brownies—one of my early pregnancy cravings.
