Product review
Sourced from Cetara on the Amalfi Coast, these anchovy fillets come from a village long regarded for traditional salt-cured seafood. The producer follows time-honored techniques to clean and fillet the fish before preserving them in oil.
Each purchase contains a 14.5 ounce glass jar with whole fillets submerged in sunflower oil and a light amount of salt. The jar preserves the fillets' texture and keeps them easy to portion: the pieces are tender yet firm enough to handle for slicing or mashing.
Use them straight from the jar on pizza, folded into sauces, blended into dressings, or chopped into warm dishes. Refrigerate after opening and use within a few days for best flavor and texture.
Pros
- Glass jar keeps fillets intact and easy to handle
- Sunflower oil yields a milder, less pungent aroma
- Firm, meaty fillets suitable for many recipes
Cons
- Occasional small bones or bits of scale in some jars
- Saltiness can vary between jars
- Smaller jar compared to bulk tins
VerdictHigh-quality anchovy fillets with a restrained aroma thanks to sunflower-oil packing and a sturdy, meaty texture. Great for pizzas, dressings and cooked dishes; some jars may include small bones or bits of scale, and saltiness can vary.

Too many bones and scales
If you dislike bones or bits of scale, skip these. I found larger bones and some residual scales on a few fillets, which was off-putting.

Great for pizza and everyday use
Arrived quickly and matches the listing. I use these on pizza and in sauces; the jar size and packaging work well and the flavor isn't overly salty like cheaper options.

Flavorful, firm fillets — will repurchase
I've tried many brands. These fillets have a pleasant flavor, moderate salt and a firm bite. They sit loosely in the jar, which makes them easy to remove. I'll buy again.

Sunflower oil and jar improve flavor; nice fillets
Medium-sized anchovy tins are scarce these days, so I tried this jar. Although it cost a bit more than my usual bulk source, the fillets tasted fresher and were nicer in texture. Packed in sunflower oil instead of fish oil, the aroma is less sharp and the salt is more approachable—solid alternative while supplies are odd.
