“I got a ROCK.” These Nutter Butter cookies are inspired by the classic Halloween special It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. They’re simple, kid-friendly, and perfect for a Peanuts-themed party.
Ingredients:
- Nutter Butter cookies
- White candy coating wafers
- Graham crackers
- Black edible marker
- Small chocolate rock candy
- Optional: black food-coloring mist
Directions:
- Melt the white candy coating wafers according to the package directions.
- Trim off the bottom third of each Nutter Butter cookie and enjoy the scrap.
- Place the remaining cookie on a fork and dip it into the melted white coating.
- Coat the cookie completely, then tap the fork against the side of the bowl to remove excess coating.
- Set the coated cookie on parchment paper to rest.
- Cut a small rectangle from a graham cracker to serve as the trick-or-treat bag and position it in the center of the coated cookie.
- Top the graham cracker rectangle with a tiny piece of chocolate rock candy to resemble the “rock.”
- Allow the coated cookie to dry fully.
- Use the black edible marker to draw oval eyes. For a Charlie Brown look, add additional small black ovals as needed.
- To create Pig-Pen’s dirty-sheet effect, draw short smudged lines with the marker and, if desired, very lightly mist the cookie with black food-coloring spray.
- Arrange the finished cookies on a bed of chocolate candy rocks and serve.
