Product review
What’s included: one 120ml (4.05oz) tube of Artecho acrylic paint in Phthalo Blue. Each pigment is sold individually so you can pick the exact hue you need without a multi-pack.
Composition and compliance: this is an acrylic-based pigment with a creamy, high-pigment formula. It is acid-free, non-toxic and meets ASTM D-4236 and EN71 safety recommendations for art materials for adult use.
Performance and finish: the paint spreads smoothly across canvas, paper, wood, ceramic, MDF, cardboard, leather and fabric. It dries quickly and tends toward a glossy finish that reflects light well. The opacity is strong for large-area coverage but some shades retain slight translucency and may require additional coats for full concealment.
Mixing and technique: highly blendable and clear in tone, making it easy to expand your palette by mixing. For iridescent or color-shifting effects, a dark base can improve the final look; for outdoor or repair jobs, seal the dried paint with a clear topcoat to protect and waterproof the surface.
Uses and gifting: suitable for painting, crafts, rock-painting, fabric accents and decorative projects. Packaged as a single tube, it makes a practical gift for painters and crafters who want to add a professional phthalo pigment to their supplies.
Pros
- High pigment concentration for strong color
- Fast-drying, glossy finish
- Excellent mixability across shades
Cons
- Some effects require a primer or dark base
- Not truly self-powered glow in complete darkness
- Semi-transparent on first coats for some tones
VerdictA richly pigmented Phthalo Blue in a handy 120ml tube that covers well, dries quickly to a glossy sheen and mixes cleanly with other colors. Great for a wide range of craft and fine-art applications; some specialty effects may need a base coat or sealant.

True-to-swatch colors
Bought six different tubes and the tones are beautiful and accurate. Each was packaged separately and the paint has a satisfyingly thick body.

Does the job
Performs exactly as expected. Color matches photos and I’m pleased with the purchase — vivid shade and reliable coverage.

Technique matters for special effects
Made a small memorial rock and used this chameleon-style paint over a black base to get a blue-to-green shift. Two coats over a dark underlayer produced the iridescent look; photos don’t do it justice but it’s lovely in person.

Fun to use, good results
Performs well, especially on lighter substrates. Thin layers work but aren’t completely transparent. I used it on Halloween props and had a great time — results held up nicely.

Matched a repair well
Used this to blend a repaired resin fountain patch into a gray-granite look. Finding the right gray took a little mixing, but the result was excellent. I sealed the dried paint with a clear coat to protect and waterproof the area.

Lovely rose-gold effect
Exactly as described. Slightly sheer at first, a few layers produced the finish I wanted. Dries quickly with a glossy sheen.

Looks great in low light
Works nicely, looks impressive in dim conditions and is easy to apply.

Great color, misleading glow claim
Paint quality and color are solid, which is why I gave four stars. The product is fluorescent under UV light but it does not glow in the dark as the listing suggests.

Enjoyed the project
Tried repainting a wool figure and had to add more paint in spots as the material shifted, but overall I achieved the look I wanted and had fun doing it.
