I wanted to explain why my blog has been so quiet lately. The short version: we are expecting our first baby. This is a huge, joyful change for us, and I wanted to share the news here as well as with friends and family. I’ve been hoping to bake something cute to post alongside the announcement, but pregnancy has put a pause on my kitchen ambitions for now.
Because this is my first pregnancy, everything feels new and a bit surreal. I’m thrilled, nervous, and grateful all at once. I had imagined being able to continue my usual food posts and recipe experiments during this time, but early pregnancy has brought challenges that have forced me to slow down. My usual energy in the kitchen has been replaced with careful rest and plenty of slow, simple meals.
One of the more unexpected aspects of this experience has been how my appetite and food preferences have shifted. I’m dealing with nausea and aversions that make many of my go-to dishes unappealing. At the same time I’ve developed cravings for foods I never cared for before — for example, I’ve been craving McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets, which is surprising given that I didn’t like them prior to pregnancy. Strange cravings seem to be a common pregnancy tale, and I’m experiencing my own version of that now.
If you have personal tips or remedies that helped you manage morning sickness or pregnancy-related nausea, I would be so grateful if you would share them in the comments. I’m looking for gentle, practical suggestions for easing nausea, improving energy, and maintaining nutrition while food aversions are strong. Remedies that worked for others—simple snacks, hydration strategies, small meal ideas, or remedies suggested by healthcare providers—would be especially helpful.
I also want to let readers know that my food blog will resume when I’m able. I don’t have an exact timeline for when I’ll return to regular recipe posts, tutorials, or product reviews. For now, I’m focusing on taking care of my health and adjusting to the physical and emotional changes that come with early pregnancy. That said, I hope to keep sharing occasional updates and small kitchen experiments when I feel up to it, and I’m excited for the day when I can get back to full-time blogging.
This announcement is a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has followed my blog, left encouraging comments, or kept me in your thoughts. Your support means a great deal during this transitional time. I appreciate your patience while I step back from more frequent posting. Your continued readership and kind messages are a tremendous source of encouragement.
For fellow expectant parents or anyone who has navigated first-trimester symptoms, please consider leaving a note about what helped you. Practical tips—like what foods were tolerable, simple meal ideas, how you handled fatigue, and any safe over-the-counter or natural remedies recommended by your provider—will be very welcome. I understand that every pregnancy is different, but hearing experiences from others can make this phase feel less isolating.
Finally, I want to emphasize that I’m taking things day by day. I’m excited about the future and about returning to my kitchen and my blog when the time is right. For now, thank you for reading, for your understanding, and for joining us in celebrating this new chapter. I look forward to sharing more updates as we progress through this journey together.
