Camp Fimfo Cabin Kitchen Inventory: What You’ll Find at This Texas Hill Country Getaway

Reviewing what was stocked in the cabin kitchen of our rental at Camp Fimfo Hill Country.

We recently rented a cabin at Camp Fimfo Hill Country and found limited information online about what the cabin kitchens include. To help others planning a trip to Camp Fimfo New Braunfels, here is a clear summary of what was stocked in the Bluebonnet Cabin we stayed in.

We stayed in a Bluebonnet Cabin. The unit we used sat on a hill and appeared relatively new, which may explain why it felt more sparsely outfitted than older cabins.

What did the Camp Fimfo cabin kitchens have?

The cabin kitchen included a basic but useful selection of appliances, cookware, and tableware. Below is a detailed list of what we found so you can pack accordingly.

Appliances

  • Microwave
  • Electric oven
  • Refrigerator with freezer compartment
  • Coffee makers — both a Keurig-style single-serve machine and a small drip coffee maker (bring filters if you plan to use the drip machine)
  • Blender
  • Toaster

Dishes & Silverware

  • A basic set of dinnerware: coffee cups, dinner plates, dessert plates, and bowls
  • Standard silverware plus steak knives

Pots and Pans

  • Medium and large nonstick skillets
  • A set of aluminum pots and pans in various sizes
  • Some cabins include a baking sheet, but it was not present in every unit
  • One stainless steel mixing bowl

Tips

Based on what was and wasn’t available, here are a few practical items to bring to make meal prep easier:

  • A cutting board and a good chef’s knife
  • A can opener
  • A baking sheet (if you plan to bake or roast)
  • Reusable or insulated cups and drinking glasses — the cabin didn’t include glasses, so bring your favorites
  • Paper plates or disposable options if you prefer to minimize dishwashing in a small kitchen

The Bluebonnet Cabin has a compact kitchen layout, so if you don’t want to spend much of your vacation standing at the sink, plan meals that require minimal cleanup.

For easy meal ideas that travel well to a cabin or campsite, consider simple recipes like guacamole, quick chicken fajitas, or a classic tuna salad—light, fast, and easy to prepare with basic equipment.
