Valentine’s Day Jello Shot Recipes for Romantic Parties

Valentine’s Day Jello Shots combine vodka with layered red and pink gelatin to create an eye-catching and delicious adult treat perfect for Valentine’s or Galentine’s parties.

Instead of plain red strawberry jello shots, these layered shots elevate the presentation with two distinct flavors and colors for a festive, party-ready display.

These shots are as tasty as they look: the bottom pink layer carries a sweet strawberry-like flavor while the top red layer delivers a cherry note. They’re a fun, flavorful option to serve alongside other Valentine-themed treats.

Ingredients

Notes and substitution options are listed below. Full measurements and instructions are provided in the recipe card.

Bottle of vodka, box of pink Starburt gelatin, box of cherry Jello, can of whipped cream, Valentine sprinkles

What you’ll need:

  • Pink Starburst gelatin – creates the pink base layer
  • Cherry Jello – forms the red top layer
  • Vodka – use your preferred brand; chill before mixing
  • Water – both boiling and cold water are required to prepare the gelatin
  • Whipped cream and sprinkles – for finishing the shots just before serving

Recipe Tips

  • Make ahead. The shots need time to set, so prepare them the day before your event to allow overnight chilling.
  • Use plastic cups. Plastic shot cups are easiest for serving because you can squeeze the gelatin out; if using glass, you may need a knife to loosen the edges or a spoon to eat them.
  • Flavor swaps. Swap in strawberry, raspberry, black cherry, or watermelon gelatin to vary flavors while keeping the Valentine color theme. If package sizes differ, adjust liquid amounts accordingly.
  • Transport tip. Arrange the shot cups in a baking pan to make moving them to and from the fridge easier—disposable foil pans work well for parties and cleanup.
