Product review
This kit contains 28 short-arm L-keys split between 13 imperial sizes and 15 metric sizes. Inch sizes: 0.050, 1/16, 5/64, 3/32, 7/64, 1/8, 9/64, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, 1/4, 5/16, and 3/8 inches. Metric sizes: 1.3, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 mm. The set is supplied in a molded quick-access holder that aligns each key facing forward so you can remove any piece without shifting the rest.
Each L-key features one ball-end arm and one shortened flat arm. The ball end has a 20-degree angle that allows engaging fasteners off-axis for improved access, while the short flat arm is noticeably shorter than standard keys so it fits into cramped clearance areas. Overall lengths are slightly greater than many competing short-arm sets to provide more leverage where it counts.
Manufactured from 8660 nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel, these keys are heat-treated to a 54–58 HRC hardness range and finished with a manganese phosphate coating for corrosion resistance. All but the smallest sizes carry high-visibility laser-etched markings plus stamped size marks that resist wear. The hex geometry is produced toward the large end of each size tolerance to minimize slop in mating fasteners.
Pros
- Short flat arm for tight access
- Ball end offers angled engagement
- Durable heat-treated chrome-moly construction
Cons
- Smallest sizes lack laser marking
- Coated finish can show wear over time
- No handle or folding driver included
VerdictThis 28-piece TEKTON short-arm ball-end L-key set is built for confined spaces and frequent use. The kit pairs a shorter flat arm for tight-clearance work with a ball end on the opposite arm for angled engagement. The keys are longer overall than many rivals to give extra leverage, and the included holder keeps tools organized and easy to grab. Heat-treated chrome-moly steel and a manganese phosph

Great alternative to higher-end brands
Quality rivals other name brands and the selection is generous. Good value for people who can’t justify premium pro tools.
